EMPLOYMENT LAW | HUMAN SERVICES LAW | EDUCATION LAW

Meet Attorney Alfred A. Gray Jr.

Attorney Gray founded Gray Law in 2024 to continue his distinguished legal practice, building on over three decades of experience as a partner in prestigious Boston law firms, former Deputy General Counsel for the Massachusetts Department of Developmental Services (DDS), and former counsel with Mass Commission Against Discrimination (MCAD). Al combines sophisticated legal expertise with personalized service, focusing primarily on management-side labor and employment law while maintaining his established practice in human services and education law. In his primary practice area of labor and employment law, Al serves as trusted counsel to management across all facets of workplace relations. His comprehensive approach includes representation before administrative agencies (MCAD, EEOC, NLRB, OSHA), state and federal court litigation, and strategic guidance on matters from union avoidance to workplace investigations. This depth of experience, gained through years of private practice and public service, helps employers effectively navigate the complex landscape of union avoidance, workplace investigations, and all forms of employment and labor relations.

Al's deep expertise in human services law stems from his pivotal role as former Deputy General Counsel for the Massachusetts Department of Developmental Services (DDS) and subsequent private practice experience. He understands the unique challenges these providers face and offers practical, experience-based solutions that protect both the organization and the people they serve.

In education law, Al provides valuable counsel to higher education and secondary school programs, drawing on years of experience in educational services matters. His practice includes special education advocacy, student discipline proceedings, and broader institutional guidance on regulatory compliance and policy development.

What truly sets Gray Law apart is Al's commitment to providing direct, partner-level attention to every client. By maintaining a focused practice and leveraging decades of high-level experience in both private and public sectors, he delivers sophisticated legal counsel that remains accessible and responsive.
